Business profile

These settings drive every calculation on the Reorder Engine tab.

Extra days of cover held on top of lead time, as a buffer against a slow supplier or a sudden spike.
How far back the engine looks in your movement log to measure how fast each SKU sells.
Every figure in this dashboard is calculated from data you type in yourself. Nothing connects to a store, a marketplace, or a supplier system.

How the Reorder Engine works

Three numbers, one decision. No formula to build, no cell to maintain.

Step 1 · Velocity

The engine counts every sold movement for a SKU inside your velocity window and divides by the window length. That is its real daily sales rate — measured, not estimated.

Step 2 · Reorder point

Daily rate × that supplier's lead time gives the units you will sell while waiting for a delivery. Add your safety-stock days and you have the level at which you must place the order.

Step 3 · Days of cover

Quantity on hand divided by the daily rate tells you how many days until you hit zero — so a SKU with 400 units can still be more urgent than one with 40.

Stock movements

Every unit in and out. This log is what the Reorder Engine measures velocity from — the more honestly you keep it, the sharper the reorder points get.

Date SKU Type Qty Balance after Note
Use Sold for customer sales, Received for deliveries, Adjusted after a stock take, Damaged for write-offs, and Returned for stock coming back. Only Sold movements count toward sales velocity.

Reorder Engine & Dead Stock Finder

The part a spreadsheet cannot do on its own: velocity measured from your own movement log, multiplied by each supplier's real lead time, turned into a live reorder point — and the same maths run backwards to find the cash frozen on your shelves.

Full cover table

SKU Product On hand Sold/day Lead time Reorder point Days of cover Status
Reorder points and days of cover are estimates based on the velocity window and safety-stock days you set on the Overview tab. A SKU with no sales history in the window shows no cover figure, because there is nothing yet to measure.

Suppliers

Lead time is the number the Reorder Engine depends on most. Getting it right per supplier is what makes the reorder points trustworthy.

Supplier Lead time (days) Min order qty Contact Notes

Open purchase orders

Expected arrival is calculated from the order date plus that supplier's lead time.

PO ref Supplier SKU Qty Order date Expected Status
Marking a PO Received does not move stock by itself — log a matching Received movement on the Stock Movements tab so the balance and the velocity history both stay accurate.
